MAFRA (the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs) and aT (Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp.) hosted an event for Chinese consumers to experience Korean food products at a large mall near Shenzhen University in Guangdong Province. The event was held for three days, from November 10 to 12, and aimed to increase food exports to China.
Titled “2017 Korean Food Fair for the Youth,” the event introduced young Chinese consumers interested in Korean food and culture to popular and promising Korean food products. Visitors were able to look around exhibition booths, taste various Korean food products and beverages, and take pictures in the photo zone.
The six booths for existing products and one booth for promising products displayed popular snacks, dairy products, citron tea, noodles, sauces, and rice.
Lee Ji-jae, a manager of the aT office in Hong Kong, said, “Guangdong is a region highly receptive to Korean food. We will continue to discover and promote food products with high potential using various marketing strategies.”
