Bokbunja (rubus coreanus) is a species of raspberry native to Korea and it is commonly used in oriental medicine. The berry is rich in anthocyanin, lyphenol, and vitamins A and C. But its merits do not end there; it is very effective in improving kidney function. In fact, that is how the berry received its Korean name. “Bokbunja“ means “turning over a chamber pot.”
Korean companies are striving to make this healthy berry easily accessible to consumers through beverages. Many bokbunja beverages are exported abroad and receiving a warm welcome as “beauty beverages” in ASEAN, Japan, and China.
