Mushrooms are widely popular around the world thanks to their unique flavor and chewy texture. They are rich in nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, and dietary fiber. Synonymous with wholesomeness, mushrooms are known to strengthen immunity and have an anti-cancer effect. Since they are also low in calories (an average of 30㎉ per 100g), mushrooms are good for losing weight.
In Korea, a variety of mushrooms―king oyster, enoki, oyster, shiitake mushrooms, and many more―are produced throughout the year. The overall annual production is about 170,000 tons. Korea actively exports mushrooms overseas. King oyster, enoki, and other mushrooms produced in Korea are distributed in over 35 countries including the US, Canada, Australia, and Vietnam.
