An eventful year has passed and 2014 has come. Happy New Year to all the readers of <Korea AgraFood>! I am really thankful for your support of both aT (Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp.) and Korean agri-products last year.
We live in an age of globalization and internationalization. Thanks to the Korean culture wave - known as “hallyu” and seen in the popularity of Korean cinema, dramas, and K-Pop overseas - the interest in K-Food is continuously increasing. K-Food is spreading throughout the world and a large number of various Korean agri-products are becoming more and more popular around the world.
Last year, K-Food Fairs were held in the US, China, and ASEAN. These Korean culture and food events received a positive response from local people. It is my hope that as the global awareness and popularity of K-Food increase further, foreign people will become more interested in Korea and Korean culture through the Korean food.
Recently the Paris aT office has opened. We are doing our best to promote K-Food and encourage the K-Food wave in Europe and all around the world.
aT will make even greater efforts this year to promote excellent, safe Korean agri-products in overseas markets. We will carry out more sales promotions in cooperation with big overseas distributors, establish closer contacts with the media, and discover and provide information on promising agri-products for export.
In addition to high-quality and fresh agri-products, ingredients, and processed foods, there are also many excellent food franchises in Korea. I would like the unique Korean food franchises, Korean restaurants, and skillful cooks who work for those companies to gain your attention as well.
