KFF Releases a K-Food Album in Collaboration with a Famous K-Pop Songwriter and Hallyu Idols
Six K-Food Songs to Promote Delicious and Nutritious Korean Cuisine

Riding on the success of K-Pop, K-Food (a general term for Korean agri-products and Korean cuisine) has also joined the ranks of the world’s most popular foods. Foreign buyers all say in one voice that the biggest advantages of K-Food are reasonable pricing, high quality, and health benefits. Last December, Korean Food Foundation (KFF) produced an album in English featuring Korean cuisine for the purpose of helping globalization of K-Food.
Many Hallyu (Korean culture wave) fans at home and abroad are highly interested in
K-Food songs because the album was produced in collaboration
with Brave Brother (a famous K-Pop songwriter) and several K-Pop idol groups.

Who Are the K-Pop Singers That Recorded the K-Food Album?

The chief producer of the K-Food album is Korean songwriter Brave Brother. He is the author of many K-Pop songs that have gained popularity around the world. The hits he wrote include Big Bang’s “Last Say Goodbye,” Sistar’s “Alone” and “So Cool,” and many more. The K-Pop singers who participated in recording the K-Food album are six Hallyu idol groups: “ZE:A,” “Jay Park,” “TEENTOP,” “Electroboys,” “Bigstar,” and “Brave Girls.” These singers contributed their talents to praise the taste and uniqueness of K-Food through cheerful songs.

The six K-Food songs are written in both English and Korean. The title song of the album (sung by Electroboys and Bigstar), “K-Food Day,” has a rhythmical melody and interesting rap part that represents the unforgettable charm of Korean cuisine. Another song, “La La La” (sung by ZE:A), has a dance rhythm and tells the story of how ZE:A members have fallen in love with the taste of various Korean dishes: kimchi bokkeumbap (kimchi fried rice), dolsot-bibimbap (sizzling stone pot bibimbap), bulgogi (thin slices of beef marinated in a soy sauce), and so on. “I Like it” (sung by Jay Park) also promotes the taste and individuality of Korean cuisine with a sophisticated hip-hop rhythm. “Delicious Addiction” (sung by TEENTOP) talks of the excellence of traditional Korean dishes as reflected in the song’s title.

“K-Food Day”

It’s a K-Food day x2
Everybody ladi dadi party K-Food day
It’s a K-Food day x2
Everybody Ladi dadi K-Food day

Sweet bulgogi hot topokki
Gives me a lot of energy
Ginseng chicken soup with some rice
It makes me feel so healthy
I like it like it like that
K-food is the best oh yeah
Hands up in the air

Not fancy but it’s an addiction
Real spicy and hot like friction
Ladies gonna love it, they can’t fight it
It’s a sweet temptation
You know I can’t live without it
It’s like I can’t live without you
Learn how to cook the K-Food
It’s good blowing up like K-Pop

“Let’s Sing a K-Food
Song with ZE:A!”

Why does ZE:A Participate in Producing the K-Food Album?
We always felt a little sad that we couldn’t come up with an idea for how to help foreigners learn about the excellence of the Korean cuisine. Meanwhile, we heard that KFF planned to produce a promotion album for Korean cuisine with songwriter Brave Brother. We thought it’s a great chance and instantly decided to participate.

What kind of Korean dishes does ZE:A like?

(Dong-jun) When I was in middle and high school, I liked kimchi very much. I even had kimchi dishes, such as kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew) and kimchi-bokkeumbap, for breakfast. (Hee-chul) I frequently eat guk-bap (boiled rice served in soup) dishes, for example seolleongtang (ox bone soup). (Gwang-hee) I used to enjoy instant food, but these days I often eat Korean food for my health. My favorite Korean foods are Korean-style meat dishes, especially bulgogi with its sweet yet clean taste. (Si-wan) I also like Korean-style meat dishes but the spicy ones. I think jeyuk-bokkeum (stir-fried pork) is the best.

What Korean dishes would you recommend to your foreign fans?

(Gwang-hee) I highly recommend sundubu-jjigae (spicy soft tofu stew). Generally, foreigners are unfamiliar with tofu dishes and I think they can easily enjoy sundubu-jjigae because of its soft and spicy taste.

What Korean dish can ZE:A make best?

(Dong-jun) I think I can cook the best kimchi-bokkeumbap in the world. I have had only kimchi-bokkeumbap for breakfast for four years. So I don’t think I’ll surprise anyone if I say with confidence that I make this dish well. I can cook not just kimchi-bokkeumbap, but most other dishes using kimchi.

Where Can We Listen to and Download the K-Food Songs?

You can download the six K-Food songs and listen to them at the portal site for the globalization of Korean cuisine: www.ilovekoreanfood.net. The music and video contents of the album will also be offered free on many websites - the KFF channel on Youtube (www.yutube.com/thetasteofkorea), the iTunes store, and major online portal sites around the world.
