Go Yum Yum and Grow Stronger with Pororo

Don’t Just Watch Pororo? Eat with Him!
A Variety of Pororo Kids Foods

kfood-1.jpg

I love to play all day. Come join me my friends!~♬. Hello, everybody! I am the little penguin Pororo, the main character of the computer-generated animated cartoon series produced in Korea. I am not very good looking - I have short legs and walk with a waddle. But many children love me. They smile and forget that they’ve been crying as soon as they see me.
That is how I have earned my Korean nickname, “Potongryeong,” which means “President Pororo.” Do you know what the secret is? My know-how is that I always put myself in children’s shoes and speak like them. It may sound like I’m blowing my own horn, but I can’t stop telling you about my achievements: I’m not only successful in Korea; my program currently airs in 110 countries. As my popularity is hitting the sky, so many products have come out with me and my friends (other characters of the series) on the packages - from toys to kids foods. These days, Pororo kids foods made with organic ingredients are getting the spotlight.
Let’s take a look at some of them.

Can Loopy Cook Well? Is Her Cooking Delicious?
Pororo Special series “Pororo Eats Kimchi” Is on the Air

kfood-2.jpg

Korea Agro-fisheries & Food Trade Corp. (aT) produced six episodes of the Pororo series to teach children about the benefits of traditional Korean foods such as kimchi and traditional sauces.

kfood-3.jpg
In these episodes, Loopy cooks kimchi-jeon (kimchi pancakes), kimchi-bokkeumbap (fried rice with kimchi), and doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) for her friends and explains about the strong points of each dish in a way that children can easily understand. The highlights of this animation series are the opening and closing scenes where Pororo and his friends sing the title song about traditional Korean food. According to an official of aT, “The version of the special series for foreigners (in Japanese, Chinese, English, and other languages) is now in the making. We hope that the animation introduces children around the world to the Korean dishes and contributes to the increasing popularity of Korean food.”
