Breaks the Stereotype That RED Is the Color of Korean Ramen Soup
Korean ramen enjoys great popularity with its unique, refreshing, and hot taste. SAMYANGFOODS Co., Ltd. started exporting ramen in 1970 and was the first of the Korean companies in the field to receive FDA approval. In 1980, they concluded a contract with Daiei, Inc., the biggest supermarket chain in Japan. Thanks to its delicious taste, the first batch of shipped ramen sold out in less than 3 days. A new product of SAMYANGFOODS Co., Ltd., “Nagasaki champpong ramen,” is attracting a lot of attention from overseas consumers.
White-Color Soup is to Die For
Usually, Korean ramen soup is red. But Nagasaki champpong ramen does away with this image because its color is white. The soup harmoniously combines the thick broth made with pig bones and the refreshing flavor of seafood (squid and shrimp). The addition of green peppers has removed the greasy taste. Bok choy, cabbage, and tree ear flakes add zest to eating it. The news that Nagasaki champpong ramen is enjoying huge popularity in Korea has made Japanese consumers even more curious about the product. The company is making efforts to export the noodle dish to Japan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
